RISE- Reception Network
The Rise Reception Network Programme
The RISE Reception Network programme is a Department for Education initiative in England, forming part of the government’s Best Start in Life strategy and the universal Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) offer. It brings together school‑led, locally delivered networks of primary schools focused specifically on improving the quality of Reception‑year provision. The programme is designed to strengthen evidence‑informed practice, build leadership capacity, and help more children achieve a strong foundation for learning by the end of Reception
Rise Reception Network Lead School
Each network is led by a designated lead school with strong, sustained early years practice, and supports other schools through professional discussion, shared resources, peer visits, and opportunities to observe high‑quality Reception teaching and leadership in action.
Our Role
As a lead school, Harris Primary Academy Mayflower will provide support across the network for leaders, teachers and support staff by sharing our expertise and evidence‑informed approaches to early years education. We will model and embed our ethos of “Excellence, Every Child, Every Day”, demonstrating how this underpins our practice and decision‑making. Through collaboration and shared learning, we will showcase how we work consistently to ensure every child is supported to thrive and fulfil their full potential.
