Community Projects: Grandparents Morning
As part of our Autumn 2 project, Year 4 invited pupils’ grandparents into school to spend an hour with the children.
During their visit, the children had the opportunity to ask a range of thoughtful questions and learn more about their grandparents’ experiences. It was a truly special morning, and both the grandparents and the children thoroughly enjoyed the time together. To top it off, later in the day we welcomed two very special visitors from Carolyn Care Home. The pupils were able to connect with and support the elderly during this festive season.
Our guests joined us for afternoon tea and biscuits, enjoyed a few Christmas songs from the children, and even answered some questions from our curious pupils. Betty and Barbara, aged 90 and 95, were absolutely delighted to spend the afternoon with us. They shared their secret to a happy life — “Smile” — and told us about the wish list they keep at the care home. Betty, the adventurous one, recently went on a rollercoaster and now has her sights set on climbing the O2!
We might need to start a wish list of our own!
