Bikeability training 2026
This week, some of our Year 4 and Year 6 pupils took part in ‘Bikeability’ cycling proficiency. Having already mastered the basics, they learned practical skills on how to stay safe on the roads. Throughout the sessions, the children learned essential road safety skills, including how to use hand signals correctly, check over their shoulders before turning, and safely stop and set off. They practised controlling their bikes, building confidence, and developing greater awareness of their surroundings. The pupils showed excellent focus, enthusiasm, and determination as they worked hard to improve their cycling skills. Many children said they really enjoyed learning how to ride more safely and confidently, and they are now better prepared to cycle responsibly both in school and out in the community.
