Former Mayflower Pupils Return for Work Experience
We were delighted to welcome back several of our former pupils this term as part of their work experience placements. It has been a real pleasure to see them return, not just as familiar faces, but as confident young people beginning to explore the world beyond school. Now on the other side of the classroom, they have gained a valuable new perspective on teaching and learning—experiencing first-hand the planning, patience and adaptability that staff bring to each day. This shift in perspective has helped them to better appreciate the role of the teacher, while also developing their own confidence and communication skills. During their time with us, they have had the opportunity to experience the realities of working life—taking on responsibility, supporting pupils in lessons and contributing to the day-to-day life of the school.
They have approached each task with enthusiasm and maturity; they have been excellent role models throughout. Their presence has also been inspiring for our current pupils, who have enjoyed seeing where their own journeys might lead. We are proud to play a small part in supporting our former students as they take these important first steps into the world of work, and we look forward to seeing what they go on to achieve.
