Year 2 visit to Tower Bridge
On five seperate visits to central London this week, our Year 2 classes visited Tower Bridge to witness the Victorian-era engineering marvel. This vist followed them reading the story "Rosie Revere; Engineer", so the children already had a good base of knowledge prior to their visit.
They were taken on a tour of the engine rooms, learning about how the bridge was constructed, how it works and how it is kept in working order by a series of clever engineering details.
Finally, the children crossed the world-famous bridge and walked over the glass walkway, looking down at the bridge and River Thames below.
