Extremely proud of one our Year 4 pupils who won an essay writing competition. Today she delivered the books she chose for her peers to enjoy and said “I feel really good about myself, I feel like I did something good for other people”. https://t.co/0kgGsr1wpg

Harris Primary Academy Mayflower rated by Ofsted as 'Outstanding' across all areas

Our first Summer Family Funday a Roaring Success!

Our first academy Family Funday, a joint staff and PTA venture was a roaring success today and attended by almost every family in the academy.

Rather than holding a summer fair where pupils paid per ride/turn our PTA sold strips of 10 tickets at a cost of £3 and each activity could be accessed at the cost of one or two tickets. The staff ran some fantastic stalls including ‘splat the rat’, penalty shootout, ‘play your cards right as well a hot dog stalls and a refreshment area.

The aim of the Family Funday was to bring our community together for a cost effective event that would be accessible to all our families. After purchasing all the prizes and refreshments the PTA calculated that we still raised £1000 towards academy funds.
